Slowbook Privacy Policy

1. Company and contact information

Slowbook is provided by Metah Design Statégique Inc., located at [YOUR STREET ADDRESS, CITY, PROVINCE, POSTAL CODE, CANADA] (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

2. How Slowbook uses information

Slowbook is a locally installed internal business application. It connects to QuickBooks Online only after the user authorizes access.

Slowbook’s use of information received from Intuit APIs is limited to providing the estimate-import functionality requested by the user.

3. QuickBooks information

As needed to prepare, validate, and create an estimate, Slowbook may access:

• QuickBooks company information;
• customers and relevant customer details;
• products and services;
• tax codes; and
• existing and newly created estimates.

QuickBooks information is exchanged directly between the locally running Slowbook application and Intuit’s API using access authorized by the user.

4. Imported Excel and CSV files

Imported Excel and CSV files are processed locally by the Slowbook desktop application. The source file is not uploaded to this website. Only information selected and confirmed by the user for an estimate is sent to QuickBooks Online.

5. Access tokens and configuration

QuickBooks access tokens and configuration information are stored locally on the company computer or held in memory, where applicable. Slowbook does not use this public website to store QuickBooks tokens, imported files, or estimate content.

6. Who can access local data

The company using Slowbook controls who may access the computer, imported files, application configuration, and connected QuickBooks company. Only authorized employees and administrators should use the application or view imported data. Users must follow their company’s device access, file retention, and account security policies.

7. Sale and disclosure of information

We do not sell personal information. Information is exchanged with Intuit only as needed to provide the QuickBooks functionality requested by the user, or disclosed where required by law. Intuit handles information under its own privacy terms.

8. Data retention

Slowbook does not maintain a cloud database of imported files or QuickBooks data. Imported source files remain on the local computer for as long as the company or user keeps them. Information held only in memory is removed when the application session ends. Locally stored tokens and configuration remain until the user disconnects, uninstalls the application, or deletes the application’s local data. Records created in QuickBooks are retained according to the connected company’s QuickBooks settings and legal obligations.

9. Revoking access and deleting local information

To disconnect Slowbook, open the application, click the settings gear, and select Disconnect QuickBooks. To revoke access completely, sign in to Intuit and remove Slowbook from the connected-app settings.

An authorized user or administrator may delete locally stored configuration by uninstalling Slowbook and removing its application-data folder according to company IT procedures. See the disconnect instructions or contact privacy@yourdomain.com for help.

10. Security and policy changes

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to a locally installed internal tool. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. We may update this policy when the application or applicable requirements change, and will revise the effective date when a material update is published.
